Checking-In: Spring 2022
As 2022 continues to clip along, the beautiful Spring weather brings new life to a dreary winter season. Mask mandates have lifted here in Oregon and things are starting to feel a little more like normal. With clients beginning to make their way into the office for meetings, it’s been a joy seeing folks in person again. We are truly humbled and appreciate the trust our clients have in the service we provide. As a part of that service, we are available to help family or friends with any financial planning questions or concerns.
The H Group, Inc. – Portland
Scott and his wife Linden had all their family gathered for the holidays and report it was sure great to have everyone under the same roof again! Scott used the short winter days to work on some wood projects and is looking forward to longer days and sailing in the Pacific!
Fred’s son, Peyton, met a girl and decided to move to New York City to be with her and expand his career opportunities. In early March, we visited with Peyton and Grace in New York City and had a great time walking and seeing the town.
Jessica and family had a wonderful holiday season. In January all the aunts, uncles and cousins were able to get together to celebrate Grandma’s birthday which was quite fun. The kids are all now focused on their upcoming Spring break and finishing out the school year.
James, Heather and the boys had a wonderful holiday season; however, January saw covid sweep through the Sager house, but they’re happy to report that everyone is healthy. With Spring now upon us, James is ready to get back out on the baseball field! Yes, after his rookie season coaching his oldest son Owen and a squad of T-Ballers, he’s at it again. Heather, James and the boys are all looking forward to some travel as the school year winds down!
Although Lindsay spent most of the winter cooped up next to her fire at home, she did escape to the coast with cousins for a weekend of relaxation in Seabrook, Washington. She also welcomed two new baby cousins to the family!
Dale has enjoyed family time as well as professional development in the last few months. Dale and his wife Shirley visited their daughter’s family in Southern California for several days providing childcare for two energetic granddaughters (ages 6 and 3) while dad and mom had work commitments. Long walks to a local donut shop and playground park along with many art projects kept them busy. He also attended the annual conference of the Financial Planning Association to earn Continuing Education credits as a CFP® registrant. Interesting sessions were on cryptocurrencies, Social Security, and planning for disabled individuals. He was also pleasantly surprised to be recognized as the longest tenured member of the Oregon Chapter of the FPA, having served as a past president and 38 years of continuous membership. Fly fishing and golf are on his agenda for the spring and summer.
Heather spent the last few wet months working on inside projects with her husband, David. While those aren’t yet complete, she’s looking forward to some outside projects and gardening once our spring weather returns. She finished her three-year term as a Board member at her church this year and she’s now beginning a new role heading up the church safety team. Heather is also enjoying having clients return to in-office meetings again. We’ve missed the face-to-face connections!
