Checking-In: Summer 2020
As Summer wraps up and transitions into Fall, we’re all looking forward to some relief from a hot, dry several months that has led to devastating wildfires. While kids kick off their new school year from the comforts of home, leaves have begun turning and cooler weather has begun to roll in. As we ramp up another election season, the markets will try to make heads or tails of the uncertainty that it brings. Meanwhile, we continue to meet with lots of new clients while working hard to further the planning and investment goals of everyone we work with.

Scott thinks that a stiff sea breeze is likely the best way to clear away the cobwebs accumulated during the lockdown and so managed to slip away to the California coast for a small sailing excursion south to Monterey and vicinity. He is thankful to report that all remains well with his family and he hopes it won’t be long before the abating of the current situation allows for a further increase in their available horizons! |

Fred’s family had their 15th annual family camping trip. Due to COVID19 is was a different experience. On a separate trip to Lost Lake, Fred and Amy got to see the beauty of the Lake and view of Mt. Hood. |

Like so many parents, Jessica is getting ready for another term of at home learning with Owen. Aside from that, she has gone through countless books on audible these past few months and is always looking for some good recommendations. |
|
James and Heather have been taking advantage of a less active summer travel schedule to “Marie Kondo” the house, as Heather likes to put it. James has rediscovered his joy in collecting baseball cards and is currently pulling Owen in with him. Owen and Levi continue to live their best lives while mom and dad navigate the controlled chaos of a kindergartener starting his school year learning at home. |

Lindsay has spent the Summer outdoors, enjoying camping, hiking and fishing with her family. She and Maverick, her 3 year old son, are embarking on a ten day road trip to Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Pocatello, ID. Wish her luck! |
|
Dale and Shirley have been “safely active” this summer and were able to enjoy small family-only vacations in Seaside and again at SunRiver in Central Oregon. With grandchildren ranging from age 20 to age 2, family gatherings are always the best. Golf and fly fishing on some of the Northwest’s most beautiful rivers are on Dale’s agenda for this Fall. |

Heather and her husband have been staying close to home this summer, other than a quick, week-long trip to the Wallowas and Sisters. It was a wonderfully relaxing time away to enjoy the peaceful beauty in Eastern Oregon. |

This summer Jason has continued to stay focused on working with clients and processes in our branch office. While travel and working on a tan was planned, Covid kind of put a damper on that. He’s been catching up on his reading, working on some organization projects at home and his physical fitness. |

Stephanie spent some quality time with her nieces and nephews after passing the Series 65 Securities License exam in July. She was then forced to cancel her trip to Europe in August due to Covid-19 but made the most of it by exploring more locally. |

Esther’s top focus this past quarter was studying for the Series 65 Securities License. Thankfully, she can also say she passed! Extended family summer vacation plans were cancelled due to COVID-19; however Esther and her husband did manage to get away to Eastern Washington for a week in late August. It was good to get out of the house! They’ve also enjoyed regular video calls with their out-of-state family members which have been a silver lining through all of this. So while the summer is now behind them and they find themselves still practicing social distancing, she looks back over the past few months and is thankful for much. |

Aidan spent the summer trying to get as much time in the sun as possible which included hiking trips to the Olympic Peninsula and Mt. Rainier. She has recently started studying to get her Series 65 license and is excited for the opportunity to expand her knowledge base. |
